The President, Muhammad Buhari’s meeting and presentation of the APC flag to the party’s candidate in Eso Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has been described as a call to duty to retrieve Edo state for the APC in the September 19, governorship election.
Edo State APC Campaign Council Director of Finance, Hon Charity Amanyevbo gave this indication on Friday when he received the Association of Past Political Office Holders in Edo state as they endorsed APC candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu for Governor.
He said, "As we speak, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is receiving the highest endorsement from the President Muhammad Buhari who formally handed him the party flag at the Aso rock, signifying that he is the candidate of the APC for the Edo governorship elections".
He said, " Your endorsement is historic as you come from the units, wards and local government areas that make up our state, showing that Pastor Ize-Iyamu enjoys full National recognition and grassroots spread".
He assured them that whereas the outgoing Obaseki government failed to pay them their due entitlements after he promised continuity in governance, when they left office the incoming Edo state government of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu will not only correct the error but with his Simple Agenda improve the living standards of All Edo people.
Hon Amanyevbo urged the group to mobilize all APC supporters in their localities to turn out en masse on September 19, 2020 to retake Edo for APC by voting in Pastor Ize-Iyamu as Governor.
Earlier the group said their decision is because they have faith that the APC candidate will keep faith with his manifesto, the Simple Agenda which is designed to change the narrative of governance in the state.
Hon Osayuki Edosa who spoke on behalf of all the Political office holders said, " Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is a man that we can trust and we believe in his manifesto, the Simple Agenda to move Edo forward"
Edosa who is from Edo South said their decision was informed by the fact that Pastor Ize-Iyamu is capable and will bring change to governance in Edo state.
On his part, Hon Luke Obalor and David Ojisua, for Edo North said with a government formed by the APC candidate, they are certain that all parts of the state will enjoy the dividends of democracy.
It was the same position, Hon Joshua Akhabue and Eni Balulu for Edo Central canvassed in declaring that the people of the district were sure that Edo state will be in good hands with Pastor Ize-Iyamu as governor because he is Godsent.#
