The failure of the outgoing Governor Obaseki to develop many communities in the stste was re-echoed at Iyuku ward of Etsako West LGA on Wednesday as Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the APC governorship candidate continued his statewide ward to ward campaign tour.
Berthing at the community on one of the legs of his tour of Etsako West LGA, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu learnt how the people through communal efforts dug a borehole, built a principal and teacher’s lodge and have been paying the salary of teachers in the public school in the locality.
"I have heard so many good things about how you have been doing on your own by building principal and teachers lodge and sinking a borehole. Equally, in the area of Education, you pay the salaries of teachers, but where are the acclaimed government teachers?"
Pastor Ize-Iyamu said, the construction of Uku Secondary school was awarded to Phillip Shaibu in 2012 but that till now the school has remained uncompleted even after he has spent eight years in public office.
On the economy of the locality, he said, "With the enormous deposit of natural resources in the community, one would have expected that a government that is focused should harness the potentials to further develop this locality".
He urged the people to turn out en masse on September 19, 2020 with their PVC to change the government of the state presently led by Mr Godwin Obaseki who is clearly not interested in bringing development to the area.
Pastor Ize-Iyamu and the APC tour of the LGA took off at Agbede, the hometown of his running mate, Mallam Gani Audu and was at the Palace in the town where Hon. Abdulateef Momodu, a Prince spoke glowingly about the duo, and Mallam Audu’s developmental strides in the locality.
The Prince said he constructed the major access road into Agbede, during his administration as Etsako West LGA chairman as he appealed that the coming APC government harness agricultural potentials of Agbede for job opportunities while the empowering widows, orphans.
He also appealed for a peaceful resolution of the dispute over the Agbede traditional rulers stool whiwh has been vacant after the demise of the last occupant, two years ago.
The Chief of Ubuane, Chief N.B Umoru also admonished the APC Candidate and his deputy to continue on a violent free campaign and said nobody’s ambition is worth the blood of anybody, as he gave them his royal blessings.
At the rally, Mallam Gani pledged to consolidate on his achievements in the area while
Pastor Ize-Iyamu said that as a farming locality, which has been deprived of the N5.6billion CBN agricultural loan by the Obaseki government they will do well to vote for APC to solve the many problems facing the locality in September.
At Iyakpi ward, Pastor Ize-Iyamu poured encomiums on notable party leaders in the area for supporting his emergence as the party flagbearer and assured them that he will be the governor they can trust to deliver on his manifesto, the Simple Agenda.
He said on election day, the voters should turn out to vote for the APC because when he gets into office as governor he will, "provide roads and employ teachers in schools in addition to facilitating job creation for the youths of the area".
The ward to ward campaign stopped over at Auchi where Pastor Ize-Iyamu was recently honored by the Otaru of Auchi HRH Momoh Ikelebe II as the Itsemakhonah of Auchi as he announced his plans to support vigilante groups in the area to assist in safeguarding lives and properties.
The APC candidate was touched by the massive display of love and support from the people of Jattu, where the rally venue had to be relocated because of violent attacks by hired thugs.
A chieftain of the APC, Hon. Lukman Mohammed at Jattu described Edo deputy governor, Philip Shaibu as a rebellious child for fighting his father Adams Oshiomhole.
He said, "They did all they can to stop today’s rally at Jattu by shooting all through the night till this morning: an indication of a drowning ship instigated by desperation to remain in office by intimidating his own people".
"Philip Shaibu doesn’t have the electoral capacity to win elections, it was Oshiomhole who was instrumental to his victories during his House of Assembly and House of Reps elections, including hid6 emergence as Deputy Governor".
After introducing his running mate, Mallam Gani Audu to the crowd, Pastor Ize-Iyamu said that he is confident that the APC will record a 100 percent victory in the ward even if the PDP running mate, Philip Shaibu, hails from the locality.
Mallam Gani Audu earlier recalled his tenure as Chairman of Etsako West LGA and listed some of his feats as facilitating the coming of NTA, Uzairue, Magistrate court and roads, adding that when he finally emerges as Deputy Governor by the grace of God he will turn the locality to a small London.
"Since Philip Shaibu became Deputy Governor, it has been constant conflicts but that when himself and his boss, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu emerges, it will be the enthronement of development across Jattu and it’s environs".
On his SIMPLE Agenda, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu told the people not to reward the bad behavior of the outgoing Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu who has continuously villified Oshiomhole.
He said, "we almost could not hold our rally today at Jattu but God almighty disgraced him, here we are. How can an apprentice begin to force himself on the people as their master, therefore we should punish him for his unruly attitude by voting him out and voting in myself and Mallam Gani Audu so that we can deploy our Manifesto of Hope – SIMPLE Agenda to transform Edo North".
