Edo state can only move forward in terms of development if its citizens vote in a government that will respect them and bring development to their communities.

APC gubernatorial candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, gave this indication on Saturday at the Palace of HRH Akpamuka Etsu, the Ogie Eppa of Weppa clan in Etsako East LGA.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu had paid a visit to the monarch to ask for royal blessings and present him with his manifesto, the Simple Agenda, before commencing his Ward to ward campaign tour of the LGA which coveted Weppa, Iviokwe and Okpekpe.

He said that inhabitants of all the communities on his tour, have expressed disappointment at the failure of the outgoing Governor Obaseki’s government to fulfil promises it made four years ago.

Such promises he said include construction of roads, building of schools and providing them with enough teachers, water supply, building of healtheare centres, supporting security agencies and electricity.

On the Simple Agenda, Pastor Ize-Iyamu said, "it is a simple document and the simple solution of our state" and his plan to move Edo state forward in writing so that it will be easy for citizens to track his performance when he takes office as Governor.

At Iviokwe and Okpekpe, the APC candidate who commended the crowd for standing in the scorching sun to hear him address them about his manifesto said that the Simple Agenda contained his roadmap to deal with the development challenges facing the state.

He said such challenges include security of lives and properties and welfare of Edo people, construction of roads, flood and erosion control in devasted communites, rehabilitation of schools and employment of teachers and building of hospitals among others.

Residents had defied the heavy rains, which the traditional ruler, HRH Peter Abalume Osigbemeh, the Onwueweko of Okpekpe described as a blessing from the APC, which had the National leader, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu and his running mate, Mallam Gani Audu on its campaign train for the rally.

Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu promised to continue in the development strides which the Oshiomhole led administration began but has been abandoned by his successor, an action that calls on all Edo people to unite against a bad government like Obaseki’s#
