The candidate of the Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has said he was suspending his ward to ward campaigns in Ovia.

The postponement followed a road crash en route a rally at Usen, before Oluku junction on Tuesday as trailor lorry ran into the campaign convoy with top chieftains of the APC, claiming lives.

Chairman of the APC Media Campaign Council, Mr. John Mayaki, in a statement said Pastor Ize-Iyamu and the APC, Mayaki condoles with the families of the victims, saying they were not alone in their grief.

Reaching out to the families of the policemen involved in the fatal crash, the campaign said Edo would never forget their supreme sacrifice, pledging to do everything possible to ameliorate their grief.

The statement called on all Edo people to pray for the repose of the souls of dead, and against the recurrence of such tragedies in subsequent campaign rallies that the party may organize.
