Ahead of the September 19th election, the APC candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has said that outgoing Governor Obaseki does not deserve reelection as governor because of his poor performance in the area of Infrastructural development in the state.
Addressing supporters and PDP decampees on Tuesday during the ward to ward governorship rally at Eguaholor-Isi ward in Uhunmwonde LGA, he said the governor scored well below the pass mark.
For a Governor who promised to provide his kinsmen with basic Infrastructures such as Schools, Roads, Primary Health Centres, as far back as 2016, the APC candidate said with nothing to show by way of promise fulfilled the governor should be voted out of office, come September 19th, 2020.
He however promised to asphalt the road linking Ike-Isi, Governor Obaseki’s village where he promised to build a school, healthcentre and provide potable water in 2016 to the community, when he wins the September 19,2020 elections.
“I feel so pained, seeing the deplorable state of Infrastructure in this community; my mother is from Uhunmwonde while my father hails from Orihonmwon. But its sad that Obaseki who claims comes from this place can’t boast of providing any meaningful development in the locality”.
He asked, “Did he provide electricity, water, roads, schools or employ teachers?” to which the supporters present responded with a thunderous, ‘No’, as he promised to bring the needed development to the community with his manifesto, the SIMPLE Agenda from November 12, 2020 when he is sworn into office.
Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu reminded the people of Uhunwonmde that for over 13months, Obaseki prevented their representative, Hon. Washington Osifo, the elected member of the State Legislature from delivering quality representation
“You can see what someone who claims to come from Uhunmwonde is doing to his own brother and people, Obaseki ought to be the light to his people and not cause pains”, hence he cannot be allowed to continue in office.
