The Vice-chancellor of the University of Benin, Benin City,
Prof. Lilian Salami has said that the institution will tentatively resume for academic activities on October 24, 2020.

The resumption is for all final year students and professional programs participants held back by the Covid-19 scourge to complete their their sessions.

Prof Salami said, “The Federal Ministry of Education has asked universities to come up with a process for resumption and we had picked October 24 as our tentative date for resumption. The institution has resolved in taking the final year students and professional programmes because of COVID-19.”

Meanwhile the VC has commended the Edo state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki for the massive renovation of the hostels in UNIBEN ahead of the now postponed 2020 National Sports Festival (NSF).

She also congratulated Governor Obaseki on his victory in the September 19 governorship election in the state and assured him of the institution’s readiness to support the administration.#
