The Edo state House of Assembly is to resume plenary at the Chief Anthony Enahoro complex located at Kings square, Benin City in a matter of days.
The Speaker of the Assembly, Mr Marcus Onobun who disclosed this said that because plenary is planned to resume the complex is being cleared of miscreants and traders.
The Edo state assembly relocated plenary to a building inside the State governor’s office in August last year after its roofs were removed for renovation.
Truck loads of sands and stones were deposited at the entrance of the legislature while for several months, traders at the nearby Oba Market turned it into an evening market.
But Mr Onobun had said that the use of the facility by miscreants and traders in the past weeks due to what happened before the elections has come to an end.
According to Mr Onobun, “if you go there now you will not notice anything of such (nature) because we have already cleared up the place and we will be resuming back there soon. Members have started fixing their offices”.
He said, “I am sure if you want to, you will be able to assess members of the house there in the next few days. What happened before the elections is responsible for the traders coming around the Assembly complex”.
