One of them was shot and killed and the others handed over to the Police when armed robbers on Sunday attacked a private medical centre at Ubiaja, in Esan Southeast local government area of Edo state, Southern Nigeria.
The incident is coming less than a week after a local government councilor, a teacher and his wife were kidnapped and set free by their abductors in the same locality.
Inpatients at the Ogbeide Medical Center were totally devastated when the 4 masked men stormed the place demanding for cash and other valuables.
But luck was to run out on them as a passerby alerted the local vigilante leader, Chief Oniha, who stormed the scene with his group members.
In the ensuing engagement with the robbers one of the 4 robbers was killed and the three seriously wounded arrested and handed over to the Police.
It was later gathered that the dead robber came all the way from Irrua in Esan Central, while the 3 arrested were natives of Ubiaja and are now with the Police.
Already Edo State Police Commissioner Mr Johnson Kokunmo has commended the vigilantes for a job well done and calling for sustenance across the state.
