The Interim Chairman of Edo Civil Society Organisations led by Bishop Anthony Osadolor Ochei has raised an alarm over the extortion racist going over the NIMC process in parts of Edo and Delta States.
The Bishop in an unscheduled visit to the office of the zonal commissioner of ICPC comprising Edo and Delta states, Mr Yesufu Olatunji, sought the ICPC’s collaboration for an on a verification verification of the allegations.
In his response, Mr Yesufu commended the efforts of the EDOSCO in fighting the scourge of corruption, stating that the fight against corruption should not be left in the hands of the Committee.
He outlined the shortage of manpower bedeviling the commission, hence the few staff available to cover every other part of its catchment areas.
He assured that in the course of findings on corruption and other related offences by NIMC officials, defaulters would be brought to book.
The EDOSCO chairman thanked the ICPC boss for his reception and commitment to collaborate to ensuring that Nigerians are not subjected to untold hardship.
